Example 1: Estimate the volume of the rectangular prism whose length is 2.5m, width is 1.5m and height is 3m.
Given the length of the rectangular prim, l = 1.5m
Width of the rectangular prism, w = 2.5m
Height of the rectangular prism, h = 3m
Volume of a rectangular prism, V = (length) * (width) * (height)
Hence, volume of the rectangular prism, V = 2.5m * 1.5m * 3m = 11.25m3
Therefore, the volume of the given rectangular prism = 11.25m3
 
 
Example 2: Estimate the volume of the rectangular prism whose length is 6.4m, width is 5.8m and height is 3.2m.
Given the length of the rectangular prim, l = 6.4m
Width of the rectangular prism, w = 5.8m
Height of the rectangular prism, h = 3.2m
Volume of a rectangular prism, V = (length) * (width) * (height)
Hence, volume of the rectangular prism, V = 6.4m * 5.8m * 3.2m = 118.784m3
Therefore, the volume of the given rectangular prism = 118.784m3
